This is the privacy statement of OWNIT, located in Amsterdam. OWNIT is responsible for the processing of personal data as shown in this privacy statement.

Your privacy is very important to OWNIT. OWNIT therefore adheres to the relevant privacy laws and regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation. This means that OWNIT:

  • Clearly sets out its goals beforeOWNITprocesses your personal data, via this privacy statement;
  • Stores as little personal data as possible and only the personal data that is necessary for its purposes.

Personal data processed by OWNIT

OWNIT processes your personal data because you use our services and / or because you voluntarily provide this personal data to us. Below you will find an overview of personal data processed by OWNIT:

  • First and last name
  • Sex
  • Date of birth
  • Address data
  • Phone number
  • E-mail address
  • Other personal data that you actively provide, for example by registering (e.g. via the “music drop”) via our website, in correspondence and by telephone
  • Bank account number
  • Videos and soundtracks (Audio files)

Special and / or sensitive personal data

OWNIT processes the following special and / or sensitive personal data of you: Personal data of persons under the age of 16. Our website and / or service does not intend to collect personal data about website visitors under the age of 16. Unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16 years. Therefore, OWNIT advises parents to be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent the collection of personal data about children without parental consent. If you are convinced that OWNIT has collected personal data from a minor without this permission, please contact us via [email protected]ownit.nl and OWNIT will delete this personal data.

Purposes of processing personal data

OWNIT processes personal data for the benefit of its services. The personal data is processed for the following purposes:

  • the handling of your registration withOWNIT;
  • the handling of your payment forOWNIT;
  • to be able tocontact (call or e-mail)you if this is necessary to be able to perform our services;
  • the collected personal data will be used to invite you to lectures and live events ofOWNIT;
  • to inform you about changes to the services and products ofOWNIT.

Basis of the processing

In order to process your personal data, the processing must be based on one of the principles of the GDPR. In the case of OWNIT, this is, depending on the specific personal data, based on agreement, a legitimate interest or permission. If you do not provide certain personal data, you may not be able to participate in OWNIT or experience all the functionalities of the website.

Agreement: we will have to process personal data to execute certain agreements. Examples include the processing of personal data in connection with the performance of an agreement between OWNIT and a contractor; and the processing of personal data in connection with an authorization to collect the payment.

Legitimate interest: we have an interest in being able to carry out certain studies and to guarantee the quality of OWNIT. We process your personal data on the basis of these interests, unless your privacy interests are more important. That is why we sometimes conduct customer satisfaction surveys and we keep track of your use of the website.

Consent: If the processing of personal data does not fall under one of the aforementioned principles, we will ask for your permission to process certain personal data.

You can always withdraw your consent.

Automatic decision making

OWNIT does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for people, such as decisions taken by computer programs or systems without involving a person (for example an employee of OWNIT). Your personal data is only visible to the employees of OWNIT; OWNIT needs it to allow you to properly participate in the upload program of OWNIT and for its administrative handling.

How long does OWNIT store your personal data

OWNIT does not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which your personal data is collected. OWNIT uses a retention period that depends on how long you are actively in our database. If you no longer want to be active in our database, you are entitled to stop this at any time and we will then remove your personal data from our database. You do this by sending an e-mail to [email protected] stating “unsubscribe”.

Sharing personal data with third parties

OWNIT will only provide personal data if this is necessary for the implementation of our agreements with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We conclude a processor agreement with companies that process your personal data on behalf of OWNIT to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your personal data.

OWNIT remains responsible for these processing operations.

View, modify or delete data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by OWNIT and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have about you in a computer file to you or another organization mentioned by you. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request for cancellation of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to [email protected]

To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your ID with the request. Make your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN) black in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, within four weeks.

How we protect personal data

OWNIT takes the protection of your personal data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized changes. If you feel that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact us via [email protected]

If you do not agree with the question or complaint handling by OWNIT, you can submit a complaint directly to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. The Dutch Data Protection Authority handles the complaint or request and takes a decision on this.
